Today I’m introducing a new series and resource on Give Me Neither – A Healthier Story: Your Frugal Resource to Health & Fitness.
Over the course of the last year and a half, exercise has become part of my daily grind. It keeps me sane, makes me feel healthier and most days I actually enjoy it (more on this later).
January of 2012, I started on a quest to lose weight following the guidelines in Jackie Warner’s This is Why Your Fat. I’ve lost over 30 pounds since then, but I’ve been stuck at this loss for a while. With the stress of our adoption last summer, my weight loss came to a screeching hault (perhaps there’s an emotion component to my eating). My goal is to lose 45 more pounds.
I’ve realized that I eat is likely 90 percent of the weight-loss puzzle for me and it’s a day to day struggle.
And yet it’s a struggle that I want to take, because I’ve realized losing the weight allows me to accomplish the goals that I have for my body.
Let me explain…
Is anyone else completely impressed and inspired by the strength of Crossfit athletes?
I’d be thrilled if I could do ONE unassisted pull-up and this girl is going at record speed (week 5). Amazing! I presently struggle with pull-ups. Ok, I presently struggle just dangling from a pull-up bar. I’d love to get there.
My realization of the last year is that this quest of A Healthier Story is not a quest to be skinny. This is a big deal in my body image thought process.
My desire is to be strong, healthy and energetic and be the best version of me. I want to make food choices that help my body work at it’s optimum and give me energy. I want to continue to be an example to my children. My kids have realized that exercise is a part of daily life. We do burpees, push-ups and the more unique wat stand.
This makes me proud.
I know that I’m not alone…
We’re all busy and we have choices each day on what we fill it up with. The good news for you…I love to discover new FREE ways to get healthy, saving you time.
Here’s a glimpse at what’s to come:
I’ve spent hours and hours searching the internet for FREE resources. I’ve been doing hiit workouts from my home for over a year and a half and I’ve logged each one.
And I can’t wait to share all of this with you!
