Strawberry season is coming in Michigan and the strawberries here are amazing! We’re already seeing deals in the grocery store and it’s time to stock up.
Each year we make strawberry rhubarb freezer jam and we freeze strawberries for smoothies and crepes for the winter months.
Here are the step by step instructions to freeze strawberries. It’s fairly easy and completely worth it.
How to Flash Freeze Whole Strawberries
Wash the strawberries and remove the hulls (the green stem). I just use a parring knife. Or pick up a strawberry stem remover.
Allow the strawberries to dry. I put them on a designated tea towel – it gets a little stained, but it’s worth it.

The Lazy Route
Here’s another option if you don’t like the strawberries sticking together.
Flash Freezing Strawberries
Place in freezer containers or freezer bags. Seal, label and put in your freezer to enjoy for the rest of the year.
