My dear friend Cheri let me know about this deal for the Kindle edition of Wrecked: When a Broken World Slams into Your Comfortable Life by Jeff Goins. This week only it’s $0.99!
I’ve been diving into Jen Hatmaker’s book Interrupted and LOVE it (and hate too). And this looks like this book is along the same lines.
Book Description from Amazon
Wrecked is about the life we are afraid to live. It’s about radical sacrifice and selfless service–how we find purpose in the midst of pain. It’s a look at how we discover fulfillment in the least likely of places. It’s about living like we mean it. It’s a guide to growing up and giving your life away, helping you live in the tension between the next adventure and the daily mundane.
This book is for us–a generation intent on pursuing our life’s work in a way that leaves us without regrets.
Author Jeff Goins shares his own experience of struggling as a missionary and 20-something who understands the call to live radically while dealing with the everyday responsibilities of life. Wrecked is a manifesto for a generation dissatisfied with the status quo and wanting to make a difference.
I don’t know about you, but I want my life to matter. I want to get to the end of each day and know that I poured my soul into it. That I loved the best I know how, that I showed others grace and that I’m open to God’s call even when/especially when it goes against the comfortable, little life that I’ve created for myself. It’s not easy (thus the love/hate) but I know it’s the best way to live.
Thanks to my friend Cheri for passing along this deal. Guess what I’m reading tonight.
And I’d love to help Jeff Goins on his personal quest to dethrone Fifty Shades of Grey as the best selling book. I love the idea of a book about truly living life taking that top spot.
