Last week I took a trip to Country Life Natural Store to stock up on healthy ingredients for our house. Here’s what I picked up.
Almond Meal (5 lb.) – $18.25
Dates (5 lb.) – $13.25
Organic Cornmeal with germ (5 lb.) – $4.75
Organic Rolled Oats (50 lb.) – $38.50
Organic Quinoa (5 lb.) – $15
Vital Gluten (5 lb.) – $12.50
Michigan Raw Honey – $15.95
Sesame Seeds (1 lb.) – $2.30
(2) Wheat Montana 7-Grain Flakes (3 lb.) – $3.90
Dried Apple Rings (natural) – $6.25
Sea Salt – $0.65
(5) Wheat Flakes (1 lb.) – $0.50
White Pail – $5.50
I paid $143.20 for all of the products above. It takes planning ahead in the budget to make a trip like this. In the long run, it’s a huge money saver.
These are awesome prices when you look at the price per pound!
Almond Meal – $3.65/lb.
Dates – $2.65/lb.
Organic Cornmeal – $0.95/lb.
Organic Rolled Oats – $0.77/lb.
Organic Quinoa – $3/lb.
We typically buy our Prairie Gold wheat berries that we grind at home at Country Life too. We just didn’t need them this trip. I normally pick up a 50 pound bag of Organic Prairie Gold wheat berries for just $26! We use these in our honey wheat rolls, chocolate chip pancakes, and even substitute it for all-purpose flour in our favorite beer bread recipe and banana chocolate chip muffins.
In the past, we’ve also put together an order with a group of friends and had it delivered for free. For FREE delivery on their trucks to established routes, there is a $400 minimum order ($500 for certain routes as indicated in their delivery schedules)
TRUCK DELIVERY ROUTES: Most locations in Southern Michigan and the upper peninsula area above Wisconsin, Northwest Indiana, Northern Illinois, Wisconsin, and the Minneapolis/Duluth areas in Minnesota are delivered to every four to eight weeks. Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas routes cover parts of Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, and northwest corner of Arkansas.
Head over to Country Life Natural Foods website and check out all the products and delivery information. If you plan on heading to the store, don’t plan it for a Saturday, because the store is closed :)
