To the Fringes: I Bought a Pink Sheet…

Pink Sheet

Did you notice anything in my Target shopping trip this week? Perhaps a pink crib sheet and some baby food… Let’s back up…. We first heard about the South Africa adoption program starting through Bethany Christian Services over 3 years ago, shortly before Jack’s first birthday. The process of paperwork took us about a year…Matt dragged his feet a bit at first because he was afraid it would move to fast (funny to think of now)…uncertainty in the program…and things {Read More}

Look What We Did Today…

raspberry

We went raspberry picking at Delange’s Red Berry Farm this morning. Yum! We’re already plan to head back before raspberry season is complete. And I’ll be sharing how to freeze raspberries sometime next week.

Glimpses of Grace…

Cupcakes

This past week didn’t start out at all like I expected. On Monday morning, we received a phone call about our adoption and our hopes for bringing home this little girl fell apart. It was a difficult week…a week filled with grief and unknown. It’s also been a week washed over with glimpses of grace… Here are a few that come to mind. Family – My brother and his family were in town. Shortly after I got the phone call, {Read More}

Your Prayers…

Well, Monday’s are usual a flurry of activity on Give Me Neither…today’s going to be a little different. This morning we received a phone call regarding our adoption and the little girl we thought we’d bring home. It doesn’t look like it’s going to go through the way that we hoped. I need to spend some time with family today and I’ll get caught up here as I feel able. I’d appreciate any prayers, because my heart is so, so {Read More}

Kaden decided to use Jack instead of paper. Aww…

Our 4 New Adorable Additions…

Wide Eyed

Here are our lastest additions to our barnyard adventures. We’re hoping that the boys can help these little kittens be more friendly. Most of our cats are terrified of us. The little one with facing forward kept peaking his one eye open. I’m sure he was thinking what is this crazy lady doing! I’ve named the little Butterscotch one in the front Puddin’. Aren’t they cute?

This may just be the best marketing that I’ve ever seen. In the bathroom stall… Completely random, but just had to share ;)

To The Fringes: A Voice to the Voiceless

You-Matter

Did you read the blog post Where is the mommy-war for the motherless child?” on Rage Against the Minivan. It reminds me once again why we continue to wait for this little one that we don’t yet know. It reminds me that when every fiber of my being wants to throw in the towel that it’s not an option. I’m committed to giving a voice to the voiceless. A voice proclaims… You matter. You deserve a chance to be loved, {Read More}

A Healthier Story: The Weight Is Coming Off…

I don’t know where the last 6 weeks have gone! I started the 5+2 food plan outlined in Jackie Warner’s book This Is Why You’re Fat on Jan. 26. (six weeks ago). I’ve lost 17 pounds so far. I can’t tell you how exciting it is to find something that moves me closer to my goal of 75 lb. weight loss. This is the first time that I’ve been very intentional about changing up our diet. I’ve realized over the last 4 {Read More}

Just Another Day on the Farm…

My BOGS boots arrived today (I posted the Clymb deal last week).  I got home from Target and the package awaited me on my doorstep. I got the boots for muckin’ around the farm. Last week my friend Kelly came up with this marvelous elevator pitch for Give Me Neither and it included chasing around our chickens. And I have chased them around…I have a hole in one of my shirts to prove it. Well, I read the pitch to {Read More}
