Check What’s Inside
If you stop at a store to pick up the Sunday paper, take a quick glance inside to make sure that the inserts are still inside. Unfortunately people sometimes take the coupons out, leaving your paper insert-less.
Find out what paper in your area has the best coupons inside.
The coupons actually vary quite a bit. Both the coupons that you’ll find and the value.
My mom gets the Muskegon Chronicle and the paper inserts are a lot smaller than what I get in the Grand Rapids Press. A couple weeks ago my papers weren’t delivered, so I called to let them know. The papers that I received that week contained even more coupons than I’d typically find (including the Target P&G inserts). Same newspaper, different area.
How Many Papers?
I have 2 Grand Rapids Presses delivered to my house each Sunday. I’ve find that most of the time, 2 sets of coupons are enough for my family. I love the convenience of the papers delivered to my home.
For time to time, rethink how many papers you’re buying, compared to how many coupons you’re using. Is what you’re saving taking care of the money that you’re spending on papers?
2 papers are enough for me, because the majority of the coupons that I use are printable coupons.
Beg and Borrow
Ask friends, family, and co-workers if they have extra coupon inserts that they’re just planning to recycle. See if they’ll save the coupons for you. Free is better!
